There's a new rumour surrounding Kareena Kapoor Khan these days, which suggests that the glamourous Bollywood diva is ready to join politics, for real. A source had claimed that she will be contesting for Lok Sabha elections for Congress from Bhopal.
However, in a recent interview with leading daily, the 38-year-old actress said in a statement that making movies will always be her biggest priority and she has no plans on joining politics, ever.
“There is no truth to these reports. I have not been approached for this whatsoever. My focus is and only will be movies,” Kareena Kapoor Khan stated.
According to some reports, earlier this month Congress president Rahul Gandhi and corporator Yogendra Singh Chauhan recieved a letter claiming Kareena as the most suitable candidate for Bhopal seat in order to defeat BJP. The same reports also claimed that Yogendra has been seeking an appointment with the Chief Minister Kamal Nath to convince him to give Kapoor a party ticket.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is the wife of actor Saif Ali Khan, who is indeed the beloved son of former Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, originally from the Bhopal state. Pataudi also contested elections from Bhopal back in 1991 but unfortunately lost.
