Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle definitely pleased the eyes of all fashionistas with her stylish outfit. But something about her surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards has made the reigning Queen of the UK really unhappy. Believe or not, it's because she chose to put dark coloured nail paint.
'Meghan Markle' is the most googled term in UK!
Meghan Markle's appearance at the British Fashion Awards was truly iconic. She looked stunning as ever and wowed the fashion crowd in a one shoulder, velvet gown designed by Givenchy. She attended the award function only to present the award for British Womenswear Designer of the Year to her wedding dress designer, Clare Waight Keller.
While all the eyes were on Duchess' elegant velvet couture, the former actor's look signalled breaking of a major royal protocol that has been reported to being personally disliked by Her Majesty the Queen.
According to a report, Queen Elizabeth II considers dark coloured nail polish vulgar and personally she only wear Essie's pale pink shade, Ballet Slippers.
It has not happened for the first time when Meghan has shunned upon a royal protocol among her fashion choices. First, during her engagement photo call with Prince Harry she did not wear pantyhose. Second, on her first outing with the queen in July, Meghan Markle failed to follow strict instructions from the monarch's aides to wear a hat for the occasion. It was then reported that the Queen was left baffled by Markle's lack of hat on that day.
There might be some tension going on between Duchess of Sussex and other royals after series of these incidents but we might have failed to notice that Kate Middleton has also worn dark nail paints for various occasions on her toes.
In other news, Meghan Markle announced her first pregnancy on October 15 while she was on a tour with Prince Harry in Australia; the Duchess will be giving birth to twins around April 2019.
