Kurbaan actor Saif Ali Khan's ex-wife and veteran actress Amrita Singh has claimed property worth of crores in Dehradun, Uttrakhand. Mard actress Amrita along with her aunt Tahira Bimbat are likely to face legal court battle on account of staking claim over 4 acres of prime property in Clement Town region of Dehradun.
In the previous week, Amrita along with Simmba actress Sara Ali Khan filed a legal complaint for stating that the Clement Town property must be protected from the land mafia and also asked for a board to be put up, claiming that the land belongs to Amrita.
Legal experts have claimed that Amrita and her aunt Tahira are likely to face a long court battle which may last over a decade. Caretaker of the property, Khushi Ram has also filed another complaint stating protection of the property.
According to the sources, an unmarried man named Madhusudan was living in the property, who died due to cancer. Reports further claim that Madhusudan's father who was an Air Force officer bought the property back in 1969. However, Naam actress begs to differ.
Amrita Singh is the daughter of Rukhsana Sultana who is the daughter of Madhusudan's father from his first wife. And as Madhusudan is no more, the property belongs to Madhusudan's sister and Amrita's aunt Tahira Bimbat and her kids.In brief, Amrita has staked claim on her maternal grandfather's asset which belongs to Tahira and her kids.
Director General of Police (DGP), Anil Raturi said, "This is a civil court property dispute and we will not interfere in the matter."
Another report claims that Madhusudan had left a will in which he wanted to handover the property to a trust.
On a related note, veteran actress Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan made her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's directorial Kedarnath which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal characters.
