Netflix confirms a second season to Sartaj and Ghaitonde’s Sacred Games!

This time we will meet Ganesh's third father!

According to the makers Anurag Kashyap & Vikramaditya Motwane, the second season will work with the same premises; with Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) trying to save his city & Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) will be trying to retain his position as the don of the city.

If you've watched the first season then you've met Ganesh's first two fathers. This time, we will be introduced to the third father, played by Pankaj Tripathi. Unlike the first season, Pankaj will be seen playing a pivot role and the second season will be shot in various international locations and India as well.

“We’ve been thrilled by the response to Sacred Games from fans worldwide, and especially in India, to this high quality production. It’s incredibly exciting for us to take the story of Sacred Games forward and open a new chapter in the series with its second season," Erik Barmack, Vice President, International Originals at Netflix, said in an interview.

Based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 thriller novel of the same name, the series is directed by veteran Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. However, Masaan fame Neeraj Ghaywan will be taking over from Vikramaditya Motwane to direct Sartaj Singh’s track. Varun Grover will remain as the lead writer, whereas Vikramaditya will reprise his role of being the showrunner.

This season will see a bunch of new faces and some of the previous characters will also make a comeback. Sacred Games is the first Indian Netflix original and has received a positive response worldwide.
