The much-praised Netflix drama series "The Crown" has finally end its search for the Iron lady. It has been reported that ace actress Gillian Anderson has recently signed to play British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season.
The third season of the The Crown is all set to release on Netflix where Olivia Colman will be moving into the role of Queen Elizabeth II after two seasons of Claire Foy as the monarch along with rest of the new cast. The third season is expected to be a take on Queen's life in the late 1960s and 1970s. The casting of Andreson as Thatcher reveals a big hint that fourth season is going to stretch in the 1980s as well. Gillian Anderson is best known as FBI agent Dana Scully from “The X-Files” and has been based in Britain since a decade now.
Margaret Thatcher has indeed made history as Britain’s first female prime minister, serving from 1979 to 1990. During her times, she earned the nickname "Iron Lady" demonstrating towards her strength on dealing with everything from foreign policy crisis to political battles with Britain’s labor unions and other institutions. Thatcher died in 2013, at the age of 87.
However, nor Netflix have commented on any confirmed character for the fourth line-up in the series "The Crown" neither they have confirmed the release date for the the third season. Stay tuned for more updates!
