Half the nation may have missed out on Manushi Chillar’s gown as she bagged the title of Miss World 2017 on November 18. While it is a given for the gorgeous 20-year-old medical student to outshine a Falguni Shane Peacock in a state of trance, surely bringing pride and glory to the nation takes every perfect bit of detail and dedication.
That one moment you get to win Miss World in custom Falguni Shane Peacock.
Chillar wore a salmon pink beaded body hugging crystal gown that gave the perfect radiance deserving of the crown. Chillar’s ensemble showed a gorgeous mermaid silhouette, thanks to the oh-so-Falguni-Shane-and-Peacock fish tail flares at the hem.
The sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves were a great compliment to Chillar’s statuesque physique and chiseled body. Bringing the crown back after 17 long years has been worth the wait.
Known for their flair and specialty in evening gowns, the duo designers once again delivered an awesome piece that is very reminiscent of their infamous collections, yet unique and glorious.
Hours after all the celebration and pomp, the new Miss World took to social media to thank the world and her supporters. “I am so happy that I have done my nation proud and I am very excited to begin a new journey!!,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you everyone for all the wishes, means the world to me,” she added.
And while the ardent young fashion police gasps I knew it!, let the dress and the duo designers (and the world) move on and continue to revel in its beauty, subtly getting ready for another iconic moment.
