7 Bollywood actors who denied taking up these famous Hollywood roles

We have always been aware of the Hollywood fever on the Indian actors. To move forward in the career, all of them desperately want to work outside the boundaries. Actors like Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone and others have already worked in Hollywood projects playing important roles. However, there are also times when our actors settle for cameos and small roles for a better career in cinema.

Well, that is not the whole story. While there are times when the actors die to work in these crucial Hollywood movies there have also been times when our Bollywood celebrities denied taking up many of the famous international roles. Here are 7 famous Bollywood actors who got a full –fledge opportunity to work in Hollywood but clearly said a ‘NO’.

Shah Rukh Khan in Slumdog Millionaire

The king of Bollywood already enjoys an international fan following. The actor had a chance to make his debut on the Hollywood screen when he was offered the role of Anil Kapoor in the movie. Shah Rukh, however, denied taking up the role as he found the role unsuitable for him. Later, the role was offered to Anil Kapoor who played it well on the screen and became the cast of the Oscar-nominated movie Slumdog Millionaire.

Deepika Padukone in Furious 7

The hottest actress of Bollywood has already worked in Hollywood in XXX: Return Of Xander Cage. Even before her big debut, she was offered a role in Furious 7. However, our loyal actress did not take up the crucial role because she was already going through a packed schedule working in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year starring against Shah Rukh Khan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Troy

The well known Indian Bollywood actress in Hollywood, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was offered a role in the movie named Troy. She had to play against the charming actor Brad Pitt. Wolfgang Petersen was offering the actress the role of Briseis in the movie. Since her role demanded physical cosiness with the actor onscreen Aish chose to reject the offer.

Priyanka Chopra in Immortals

Talking about Hollywood and not counting PeeCee in the list is just not possible. Even though the actress has gained a good amount of popularity now in Hollywood she was initially offered the role in the famous movie Immortals. She was offered an important role in the movie but the actress had to reject the offer due to her prior commitment for 7 Khoon Maaf.

Hrithik Roshan in Pink Panther 2

The dancing king of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan, despite his astounding looks and killer body, has never been interested in working in Hollywood cinema. The actor was offered an important role in the famous movie Pink Panther 2. But, as expected, the actor turned down the role and continued to work in Bollywood.

Irrfan Khan in Interstellar

A known name in Hollywood, Irrfan Khan also had to go through the dilemma of choosing between Bollywood and Hollywood. The actor was offered the crucial role of Matt Damon in the movie Interstellar which required the actor to be present in the US for four months. He wanted to fly to India in between the shooting of the movie to complete The Lunchbox and D-Day. However, Christopher Nolan did not allow the actor for the same which became the reason for Irrfan Khan to let go of the movie.

Dilip Kumar in Lawrence of Arabia

We all are quite aware of the impact that Hollywood working projects create on the Indian actors. But, to make it clear for you, the veteran actor was at the tenth spot to reject the lead role in the movie Lawrence of Arabia directed by David Lean. The reason for rejecting the role is not clear but the makers then cast Omar Sharif from Egypt.
