The Biggest Movies of 2019: Gully Boy, Brahmastra, Kalank


2018 was the year of expected hits, such as multi-starrer Thugs of Hindostan failed to please the audience but a low-budget Badhaai Ho gained praises by all. The year was filled with movies we didn't anticipate to be huge but we're glad that they were. Now with theatrical releases as well as online streaming, it is almost impossible to keep a track to what you need to see in the upcoming year.

2019 is going to be no exception as there are a huge number of movies that will be hitting the theaters near you. Most notably, Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, followed by Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. These two movies are going to be larger than life!

There are plenty of movies to sit through, and lucky for you, we've skimmed through all of 2019 to figure out what movies we cannot wait to see next year.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja will be sharing the screen space with father and veteran actor for the first time in Shelly Chopra Dhar's Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. The simple synopsis of the movie reads, "An unhappily married woman discovers her father's infidelity with her co-worker through a series of quirky encounters."

Gully Boy

Two mega-actors- Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are coming together to give us the most memorable movie ever! "A coming-of-age story based on the lives of street rappers in Mumbai," the synopsis reads. It is scheduled to release on Valentines Day 2019.


Starring some of the big guns of Bollywood, this Dharma Productions' venture is set in the 1940s during the partition of India.

Mental Hai Kya

While the makers left us all pleased with their quirky posters, there's nothing much to be said about the movie as of now.

Housefull 4

And the mad house is back with yet another exciting franchise. Starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Riteish Deshmukh, this movie is themed on reincarnation.


Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is based on the epic Battle of Saragarhi. It is scheduled to release on March 21st.

Untitled Siddharth Anand YRF Project

Two of the best dancers of Bollywood- Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff will be sharing the screen space for the time time to bring us the biggest action spectacle of Indian cinema.

Student of Year 2

Sequel to 2012 romantic comedy 'Student of the Year', which introduced Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in Bollywood; this movie will feature Tiger Shroff and debutants Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday.


Ayan Mukerji’s forthcoming movie Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy is everything that we can talk about. The rumoured couple are set to share the screen space together! The first part of the trilogy is scheduled to release on Christmas 2019.
