You'd be shocked to know that so many movies from Sanju to Sultan has earned business of more than Rs 200 Crore within a week of its release.
This year in the month of June, Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju, based on the struggles of actor Sanjay Dutt's life, took less than a week to cross the milestone of Rs 200 Crore. But, astonishing thing is that it is not the first movie to perform equally well in its first week. In 2016, Bollywood's superstar Salman Khan's movie Sultan also starring the gorgeous Anushka Sharma, turned out to be a blockbuster and one of the biggest grossing films on the Indian box office that year. Sultan had released on Eid and collected Rs 229.16 Crore in the first seven days. On the other hand, the Hindi dubbed version of successful 2017 movie, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, massively impressed the audience and went on to earn Rs 247 Crore in first seven days after hitting the theatres. Baahubali fame and south superstars Prabhas and Rana were also shocked as their film was a non-holiday release.
Another Salman Khan 2017 movie, Tiger Zinda Hai, a sequel to successful Ek Tha Tiger, also managed to reach an unmatchable figure in just a week's time. It joined the Rs 200 Crore club withing seven days as well.
