Casino Royale actor Daniel Craig has finally accepted that he's become a binge-drinker since he started portraying James Bond. The 50-year-old actor who has fronted four 007 films since 2006, joked that his celebrity status has turned him into a habitual drinker.
Daniel jokingly said that fame has taught him to drink '18 pints in a half an hour' in attempt to stop movie-lovers from recognising him in his local. Reporting about the same, Daniel said: 'I've got this window of opportunity in pubs of about 30 minutes.
'After that things start happening and it's not relaxing anymore. I've got really good at drinking 18 pints in half an hour. I like to have a drink, and I love pubs and I love finding new pubs and places to socialise. But that has a limit on it now,' added the Logan Lucky star.
Craig previously added that you wouldn't see him stumbling out of pubs after landing the classy 007 agent role and discussed at the time how he was very aware of the fact that the cameras are on him at all times.
In 2012, the British actor, who is married to Rachel Weisz, told the sources that he could no longer enjoy a regular social life now that fans have camera phones and could possibly capture his every move
He said: 'You talk to people in the movie business who have been doing this 40 years and they all say the difference is that, back in the day, you could go and have a drink in the bar, get drunk, fall over, have a good time, relax, whatever, and no one would know about it.
'But now everyone’s got a camera. Not that all I want to do is get drunk in a bar, but that’s an example.
Adding: 'So you can’t live a normal life anymore. Because it will become public knowledge that you’ve whatever - gotten drunk in a bar or skinny-dipped on a beach or something.'
Aside from socialising, Daniel was at the centre of a media storm last month after Piers Morgan criticised him for carrying their newborn daughter in a papoose.
The baby is the first child for the couple, who wed in 2011. Rachel shares son Henry, 12, with former fiance, director Darren Aronofsky, while Daniel has a daughter Ella, 26, with ex-wife Fiona Loudon
The actor was spotted on a solo outing in New York last month with the newborn, but Piers was unimpressed, tweeting: 'Oh 007.. not you as well?!!! #papoose #emasculatedBond.'
Twitter users were not impressed and bombarded the GMB host, who later apologised for his comments, with images of fathers baby wearing with some toting two children at the same time.
On a related note, Daniel will be next seen in Bond 25 which will be directed by Maniac director Cary Joji Fukunaga
