This popular Hollywood actor Ashley Judd has booked Harvey Weinstein against a defamation and sexual harassment case. She claims that he ruined her career when she declined his sexual advances.
Ashley Judd reprised the role of Natalie Prior in 'Insurgent' during 2015.
The lawsuit has been filed against Weinstein in Los Angeles superior court located in Santa Monica on Monday. She has accused Weinstein of blacklisting her from Hollywood. To be specific, she lost an important part in the 1998 franchise ‘The Lord of the Rings’ because he made “baseless smears” against the actress.
The lawsuit which has been reviewed by Reuters as well alleges that Weinstein “was retaliating against Ms Judd for rejecting his sexual demands approximately one year earlier, when he cornered her in a hotel room under the guise of discussing business”.
The lawsuit further added that: “Weinstein used his power in the entertainment industry to damage Ms Judd’s reputation and limit her ability to find work.”
Weinstein’s representative has thereafter issued a statement claiming that the erstwhile studio boss had “neither defamed Ms Judd nor ever interfered with Ms Judd’s career”.
