The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second film in Fantastic Beasts series and the tenth feature in the Wizarding World franchise including the Harry Porter series. Fantastic Beasts plot is basically set decades before the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and it’s about the Dark Wizard who spread his terror upon their world before Lord Voldermort.
Protagonist Newt Scamander is played by Eddie Redmayne in this series and the upcoming sequel would reveal many secretive stories featuring a young Dumbledore, played by Jude Law. Albus Dumbledore is one of the most fascinating and secretive characters since the Harry Porter series. He has always been introduced as a kind, grandfatherly headmaster who has chequered and complex past which hopefully would be reviled in this film. In the Harry Potter movies, two actors Richard Harris and Michael Gambon did justice to the old Dumbledore; it will be interesting to watch what Jude Law can bring to the character.
Through this movie, we will get our first real look at Grindelward although in the climax of first Fantastic Beasts we did have a glimpse of him for a few seconds. In Crimes of Grindelwald, he will reveal to the world about his true purpose. Early reviews of the film are very mixed, but all the critics’ belief that Johnny Depp has crushed the role.
