Marvel Studios and Disney Channel focus on Black Panther instead of Infinity War for Oscars 2019: Here's why!

Whaaaaaaat? Disney Channel and Marvel Studios will be holding Avengers: Infinity Wars' campaign in the upcoming Oscar Awards 2019. A Disney official confirmed that the studio is pushing Infinity War for only one category i.e., Best Visual Effects, while Black Panther will get a lot more comprehensive campaign.

From a viewer's point-of-view, Avengers Infinity War (2018) was one of the most memorable movies of the year and it fits in a-hell-lot-of categories. However, the studio does not feel the same.

Well! According to the Disney website, Black Panther will be nominated for awards ranging from the coveted Best Picture and Best Director (Ryan Coogler), to Best Actor (Chadwick Boseman), Best Supporting Actor (Michael B Jordan, Winston Duke, Daniel Kaluuya, Martin Freeman, Sterling K Brown, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis), Best Supporting Actress (Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Angela Basset), and a host of lower tier categories including Best Original Song (All of the Stars) and others.

In the mentioned list by Disney's website, Disney Channel also lists Incredibles 2 as one of the films which are being pushed for the Academy Awards 2019. Talking about the Box-Office collection, both the Marvel Cinematic Universe's movies; Infinity War and Black Panther, were massive hits all over the world.

And Indian collection stats are completely in the favor of Infinity War. Surprisingly in the US, Black Panther has made more collection than Infinity War, which has grossed over $2 billion worldwide.

Also, Black Panther’s worldwide take sits at over $1.3 billion, while its US haul is over $20 million more than Infinity War’s.

It won't be wrong to say that Black Panther did dramatically well in the States while Infinity War was a major hit in India than its competition. Hence, the makers are depending more on the U.S. collection stats than the worldwide response.

On a related note, Avengers 4 has been wrapped up and is currently in the production phase. Producer brothers Anthony and Joseph Russo posted a mysterious image through Instagram and captioned it, “#wrapped.” The much awaited sequel to Avengers Infinity War will be released on 26th April, 2019.
