It's a good day for all the DC fans out there. Few hours back, DC announced the release date of Will Smith and Margot Robbie starrer Suicide Squad sequel. The report further revealed that the upcoming Suicide Squad will be directed by James Gunn and co-produced by Justice League fame Zack Snyder.
And now, recent reports suggest that Matt Reeves' standalone DC movie, 'The Batman' will be released in the summer of 2021. Further, reports also claim that Pearl Harbor actor has stepped down as DC Universe's Bruce Wayne.
46-year-old American actor Affleck was seen as Bruce Wayne in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League. Before that, Christian Bale essayed the role in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
Earlier, Gone Girl actor took it to his official Twitter account for sharing that he will not return as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Batman movie. In his series of tweets, Ben expressed excitement about witnessing Reeves' vision of the film "come to life." A source claim that Reeves is looking for a relatively younger Bruce Wayne for the upcoming movie.
Talking about Ben's performance in the role of Bruce Wayne aka Batman, fans have mixed feelings related to the same. Where some fans think that Ben's light-hearted version of Batman is better, there are fans who think that Batman's character was initially dark and should be that way.
On a related note, DC Films is currently working on the Wonder Woman sequel along with the long-delayed Flash movie. Also, there were reports claiming that a Joker spin-off movie starring Joaquin Phoenix is in the pipeline.
