Tom Hardy's Venom surpasses Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman at global box-office collections!

Recent reports suggest that Tom Hardy starrer Venom has crossed the global box-office collection of Warner Bros. and DC's Wonder Woman. Sony's much-anticipated comic-book movie, Venom has achieved a net collection of 822.50 million dollars worldwide.

Although Venom has beaten Wonder Woman globally but it is still more than 200 million dollars behind than Wonder Woman, in domestic earnings

Whereas Gal Gadot starrer Wonder Woman managed to collect 821.84 million dollars globally. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom is the first movie from Sony's developing comic-book cinematic universe which already includes Spider-Man.

As per the movie, Hardy plays the role of an investigative reporter Eddie Brock who is probing into shady human trials of an alien parasitic species called the symbiote by businessman Carlton Drake aka Riz Ahmed. One of the symbiotes referred as Venom, embodies Eddie, and gives him superman strength, agility and speed.

Besides Tom, venom also features Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed in pivotal characters.

Although, the Tom Hardy starrer failed to get positive reviews from the audience but the box-office collection surely reflects the opposite. One of the reviews of Venom read: “Venom’s first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.”

Reports further added that although Venom has beaten Wonder Woman globally but t is still more than 200 million dollars behind in domestic (North American) earnings. As far as the domestic earnings are concerned, Venom grossed 211.70 million dollars where Wonder Woman made 412.56 million dollars.

On a related note, DC Comics and Warner Bros are all set for the release of their much anticipated project, Aquaman as Jason Momoa. Aquaman will be released on 14th December, 2018
