Soon after the release of MI 6 i.e., Mission: Impossible Fallout, rumours started making rounds that it is Tom Cruise's last MI movie. Starring Cruise and Henry Cavill, Fallout turned out to be a massive success by collecting over $700 million worldwide.
Reports claim that Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie has signed to direct the upcoming two installments of the blockbuster-action franchise; MI 7 and MI 8 featuring Tom Cruise. Jack Reacher director confirmed the same by posting it on his official Twitter account.

"Missions: Accepted #MissionImpossible," wrote Christopher in the tweet.
Based on the life of super-spy Ethan Hunt aka Tom, Mission Impossible 7 and 8 will be released in summer 2021 and 2022, consecutively. 56-year-old American actor confirmed the news by posting it on Twitter.

On a related note, Christopher entered the MI series as a director in 2015 for Rogue nation that earned $682.7 million worldwide. The upcoming MI movies are going to be fifth and sixth collaboration of McQuarrie and Cruise which began with 2012 thriller Jack Reacher.
