CID, the longest running investigation show on Indian television, started in 1998. The investigative show has been entertaining us for over two decades by solving murder mysteries, has now come to an end as Sony Entertainment Television has decided to cancel the show.
CID has completed 1,546 episodes so far
According to reports, the last episode of the show will telecast on October 27th. The announcement of the same came as a shocking news to people, as it sparked the campaign-saving CID where many expressed their aggression.
In an interview with Times of India, Dayanand Shetty said, "We were in our 21st year and had we shot for a few more episodes, we would have entered our 22nd year. It is quite an unfortunate thing to happen as we were shooting like always and suddenly we were informed by our producer that the shooting has been called off indefinitely because there were issues with the channel."
The makers will be back with a new season of the show after sometime. “The show will gear up for the renewed season with a lot more contextual cases keeping alive the thrill that the audience has experienced so far,” said a Sony Entertainment Television official in a press conference. However, there is no confirmation regarding any other details of the new show.
Although the show had undergone several changes with the cast as well as the story-line but the overall plot always remained the same. The show features Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava and Dayanand Shetty in the leading roles followed by Dinesh Phadnis, Narendra Gupta and Shraddha Musale in pivotal roles.
