Hina Khan is quite famous in the world of Television industry. She is well known for playing the role of Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. On the other hand, Ekta Kapoor brought back her iconic show Kasauti Zindagii kay 2 with new stars, trying to recreate the magic and Khan is seen portraying the role of Komolika.
Hina Khan is one of the highest paid actress’ in the TV industry.
As Hina Khan was roped for this role I was expecting a lot from her but she couldn't recreate Urvashi Dholakia's role. She tried too much to exceed the expectations but failed miserably.
Honestly, I was really excited for the episode on Monday as Hina Khan was making her grand entry on the show. The diva was seen dressed in a lehenga choli with open hair along and loud makeup and a bindi. But while her costume shouted the new generation Komolika, her acting failed.
We all know that the show is a reboot but there was one scene that I found was similar to that of the old one like Komolika dropped her handkerchief purposely just to grab men’s attention.
Not only this in one scene, the main lead Anurag crosses Komolika but does not notice her. Shocked by this, Komolika says “Kaun hai yeh jisne Komolika ko palat ke nahi dekha? Who is he?” I am pretty much sure that this line must have reminded you of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character ‘Poo’from Karan Johar’s directorial Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Hina is trying too hard to imitate the original Komolika, Urvashi- from her rolling strand of hair to her highlighted cheekbones. But sadly, she needs to improvise her acting a lot if I compare it to Urvashi’s. The makers are also doing every possible thing to recreate the Komolika magic once again on the small screen by playing the original ‘Nikaa’ tune in the background that reminded me of the time when Urvashi used to play the role which was one of the reasons why the show ran for a very long time.
The episode starts with the engagement ceremony of Prerna and Naveen where Anurag has decided to reveal some things about the groom-to-be. But Anurag has not realised his true feelings for Prerna yet! Amidst all these tensions and drama, the new Komolika wastes no time and joins the celebration.
If you have seen Kasautii Zindagii Kay in the early 2000s you can make the differences between Hina and Urvashi’s acting. There is a hell lot of difference between the both. In my observation, Hina Khan failed miserably to act like Urvashi and could not portray the role.
After playing Akshara for a really long time, I really wish Hina would get into the skin of the character in the further episodes and I am looking forward to Anurag and Prerna’s on-screen chemistry also. Will they reprise the same chemistry? Well, that’s a million dollar question, my friends!
