The latest episode of Karan Johar's talk show can be touted as one of the most funny episodes till now. The couch was graced with brothers in arms, Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, and every minute of the episode was as exciting as it could be.
While Shahid has been a part of the Koffee journey for a long time now, this was his stepbrother Ishaan's debut season and before you ask, it was the best Koffee debut ever! The two were candid and almost left us all in splits with their revelations about personal and professional lives as Bollywood actors.
Discussing about their modern family and how they've all managed to be one big happy family apart from their parents divorce and second marriages, Shahid explained how his mother had Ishaan for him. “When my mom got married for the second time she was pretty clear she didn’t want a second baby because she felt like, you know, it was pretty late, she got married in her early 30s. I kept pestering her saying that it is not fair, I deserve a sibling. And she literally had Ishaan for me. I begged her for two or three years. And finally she gave in and said ‘Alright, I am gonna have one,” he said.
Filmmaker and host Karan Johar, who is well-known to create controversies with his show, also looked kind of speechless during the episode. In a way, he gave it all away to Padmaavat star Shahid Kapoor, who was brilliant to a new extent at the show! While Shahid won the exciting hamper, Ishaan made his debut memorable by nailing it in the Koffee quiz!
Talking about what his family has been through and what he has learnt from those experiences, the Udta Punjab actor said, “I think eventually it is about love, it is about togetherness, it is about forgiving, it’s about learning to move on and it’s about learning to prioritize the fact that you eventually have to be together."
Talking about his professional equation with the Padmaavat team, being his biggest hit of the career, Shahid replied, “It’s really a big film and the stakes were very high for everybody. So everybody wanted to have their A-game on. Everybody was doing everything it takes to kind of be in the centre of the limelight. I’m sure everybody felt a bit threatened by each other at some level, it’s natural."
Brothers. Actors. Heartthrobs. Hold on to your hearts as @shahidkapoor and #IshaanKhattar come over for some Koffee, next week. #KoffeeWithKaran #KoffeeWithShahid #KoffeeWithIshaan pic.twitter.com/HRZPyWg7vK— Star World (@StarWorldIndia) 6 January 2019
He further elaborated how there is no friendship with the film’s team anymore, “My relationship status with most of the industry is zilch. Honestly, Deepika, Ranveer and Sanjay sir never became a part of my friend circle as such. I think it was more a professional thing. And it’s not the status was different and it’s changed in any manner. We connected when we were working and now we don’t have any connection."
When the host asked Kapoor about what his marriage advise will be to Ranveer Singh, who recently tied the knot with his Padmaavat co-star Deepika Padukone, he said, "Love her like Ratan Rawal Singh loved Padmavati." And honestly, this answer deserves the Audi already!
His marriage advice to Ranveer was to love Deepika as much as Rana Rawal Ratan Singh loved Padmavati and to Nick Jonas, “Never back down, you are with the original Desi Girl.”
On the work front, Shahid was last seen in Shree Narayan Singh's Batti Gul Meter Chalu. He will be next seen in Sandeep Vanga's Kabir Singh, which is a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film is scheduled to release on June 21, 2019.
