The upcoming joint venture of Disney Channel and Marvel Studios is due to launch late next year
Well, we all know that Disney has evolved a lot and has its hands deep-rooted in the world of entertainment. As per a recent report, Disney Channel and Marvel Studios are in early stages of joining hands for a small-screen project.
The limited series Marvel's project will feature a list of secondary characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the complete list of MCU characters who will be a part of the venture are not revealed but speculations are that Loki and Scarlet Witch will be seen in the TV show.
Also, there are rumours that Disney Channel is in talks with Tom Hiddleston aka Loki and Elizabeth Olsen aka Scarlet Witch, to play the same characters on the smaller platform.
In order to cope up with media service provider Netflix, Disney is planning on making its upcoming ad-free service the only place to stream its movies as well as those from its subsidiaries Marvel, Pixar and Lucas film.
Disney Channel's CEO, Bob Iger revealed last year that the studio will produce four to five original films for exclusive use on the planned Disney app, mostly live action. And around 500 films from the Disney library will show up on the direct-to-consumer platform, in addition to around 7,000 episodes of Disney TV fare.
It seems like what started as Walt Disney Productions in 1970, is still trying hard for staying in the game.
