International Lipstick Day: Know which lipstick best suits your skin tone
by Vibhuti Gupta, Sunday, July 29, 2018
Whether you’re in your PJs or the best LBD you got, there’s no stepping out of the house without the perfect lip colors. Lips are every girl’s priority and there’s no way we’re letting that go weak. They need and attention but they’re always up for a little experiment too.
Put on some lipstick and live a little!
Lipstick is the 'go-to' make-up, whenever need be. From bold red to peachy nudes and dark plums, there's so play to play with when it comes to lipsticks. However, you should never go experimenting, if it doesn't match your skin tone. It could be fashion faux pas. Thank god you have us!
Today is, International Lipstick Day, and there’s no way on Earth that we’re letting you struggle with that same old problem. We’re going to help you in decoding lip colour codes for Indian skin tones:
Dark skin tone
This skin tone is gorgeous and can be better with a lip color that complements it. Preferably, pink, crimson red, brown and berry shades, shades of copper, walnut, bronze and honey, oxblood, maroons, and rose tones look great on these skin tones. If you're in the mood to go for nudes, then you always have gingerbread nudes, nudes with a brown tint or a rosy brown nude shade.
Fair skin tone
Any shade is good for you, really. However, pink, nudes or lighter shades of peach look amazing during the day. You can also go with shades of coral, peach, orange, pink and fuchsia in lighter colours. For evening, you always have bold red, cherry red, berry and plum tones. Don't hesitate with nudes, you have a variety; salmon nudes, rosewood or nude lipsticks with pink undertones.
Medium skin tone
To be honest, you only get half of the variety of colors but that's not bad. Shades of berry red, rust, brick red, maroon or burgundy for evenings are always a go-to whereas, orange, mauves, pinks, lilac and cinnamon work their magic during the day. If you want to go all natural then I suggest, try deep nudes or natural browns. But bronze tones in creamy as well as matte finish also look remarkable on wheatish skin tones.
Bright tomato red
This lipstick just pops your lips with rich pigments. Due to its strong red tone, it spares you from frequent re-applications. It is best for fair to wheatish skin tones.
If you look up to the world of celebrities and glamour, then you'll be happy to know that majority of the celebrities have claimed their loyalty to this shade. It has been and will be the most iconic shades in the make-up collection history. The magical red color with a super matte finish is a must have for almost every Indian skin tone.
