Look for these qualities in your partner for a successful arranged marriage

by Vibhuti Gupta, Monday, July 23, 2018

Since the beginning of time, the Indian society has believed in arranged marriages over love. The new age generation has always tried to fight against this old fashioned thinking but alias, we give up. Many of us are just so done with relationships and the hope of finding love that arranged marriages is the only way, we see for not spending our old age alone.

The secret of a successful marriage is not to think alike, but together!

There’s nothing wrong with it! Obviously. But you can’t expect to know a person in one meeting, right? Spending your whole life with them and having a family together is a biggie! So before jumping into conclusions, how about you worry about the small thing; such as are you even compatible? Do you even have anything in common?

Don’t let the pressure of families or anything else get to you. You and your could-be-bride have every right to take time and think it over.

And while we’re at it, we thought of compiling a list of qualities to look out for, for a successful arranged marriage:

Same philosophies and plans

After marriage, differences and disagreements are bounds to happen but when you're looking for a life partner; it is important that they're on the same page of life as you. They share the same hopes and dreams about career, living and family because only then a happy future is achievable.

Like every other relation in life, there is nothing without honesty and trust. To be sure of this quality, you need to spend time together and pick up on traits like how honest she is or how trustworthy is he?

Dominating nature or not?

You don't want to spend the rest of your life with a control freak, right? So, get to know your partner and their nature. Find someone who gives you equal respect and is not dominating at every step!

Communication skills

There's no point of mentioning this as it goes without saying but why not! Communication is the key for a happy and sustainable relationship. If you can't communicate well, it could prove to be detrimental.

Independent or not?

Looking for an independent and self sustainable partner is the need of the hour. It doesn’t matter if you are working and earning well or not but one should always try to find the same independent nature that they have, in their partner. There’s no human who wants someone who is entirely dependent on them, even for the little things.

I hope we’ve given you some topics to converse about at your rishta meeting! Stay tuned for more Relationships- related updates.
