Our favourite Nawab is back on the silver screen and this time it’s a gripping thriller, Baazaar is about power, money and sock market. The fabulous star-cast of the film also consists of Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte Chitrangda Singh, Manish Chaudhar and debutant Rohan Mehra.
Baazaar also marks the directorial debut of Gauravv K Chawla and he is truly a perfectionist. The film is about Shakun Kothari (Saif Ali Khan), who is a huge business tycoon and is the ultimate goal of every other stock trader. He has a persona of a winner and his character will retain likeably from the audience.
Razwan Ahmed’s character is played by a newcomer Rohan Mehra, is an aspiring moneymaker who idolizes Shakun but lives with a very conservative father in Allahbad. He eventually meets Radhika Apte aka Priya in the film, who helps him find a job as a trader of a leading firm. With this opportunity he applies his brain and successfully reaches to Shakun. When finally their path intersects, the whole movie starts to revolve around Brain vs Heart game and how they break or make things after.
The basic premise of the movie rings a bell about 1987’s Wall Street. Although the two are distinguished quite well with their story lines yet they do stand against each other. However, Baazaar is brilliantly Indianised and has a lot of desi ingredients that worked really well on screen. Every movie has its chunks but this one goes a little out of hand in terms of lacking deapth in the relationship between Saif and Rohan’s characters. We must mention that Gauravv has captured the ture essence of the Indian stock market which was indeed satisfactory to watch.READ MORE
