The “spiritual successor” of Enthiran 2010 blockbuster movie Robot has been showered with positive reviews by the critics as well as the audience. The film, 2.0 features superstar Rajinikanth reprising his roles of doctor Vaseegaran and Chitti, the robot and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who marks his south cinema debut with this.
Helmed by S. Shankar, the audience is preferring the 3D version of the film. With shows starting as early as 4 AM in several centers, the film is garnering a good response despite having a mid-week release.
Going by the videos that have gone viral, harcore fans of Rajini sir are doing everything in their power to prove their love for the demi-God of Indian cinema. And needless to say, the effect was its massive opening.

"The Hindi version of the film is expected to earn something between Rs 20-25 crore on the day of its release. If we consider all languages (Tamil and Telugu), the Rajinikanth starrer will touch Rs 100 crore (gross) mark on day one," wrote Trade analyst Girish Johar.
The film also stars Amy Jackson and has released in 14 languages. It has music by maestro AR Rahman and has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
