Anurag Kashyap captures the brutality of realism in Mukkabaaz

After the teaser poster, we all were much eager to see the poster of Anurag Kashyap's upcoming venture, Mukkabaaz. Finally the makers have released the first poster of the film and it looks every bit of intense!

The film, is slated to release on January 12, 2018

The poster is all about blood and sweat. It even has a broken tooth to show the struggles of a boxer. The film centers around a poor boxer named Shravan, played by Vineet Kumar Singh, who falls in love with a mute girl named Sunaina (Zoya Hussain) who is out of his class. When Shravan crosses the local big shot of the boxing federation, he essentially gets himself blackballed from competing at higher levels, but his trainer Sanjay (Ravi Kishen) isn't willing to take this moral defeat laying down. So begins Shravan's battle for victory over the forces of prejudice and corruption, the journey from brawler to a boxer.

As is typical of a lot of Kashyap's best work, much of the main cast is relatively unknown outside of a few minor roles. However, Shravan's nemesis, Bhagwan Das Mishra, is played by Bollywood veteran Jimmy Shergill who gives a chilling performance as the gateway through which the titular Brawler must pass on his way to success.

Recently, the makers also released the song Paintra which flaunts some really cool EDM beats for fans of electronic music. The song has been written by the film’s lead actor Vineet Singh and composed by musical sensation Nucleya.

The upcoming sports drama film received a standing ovation at this year's MAMI Film Festival and Kashyap said the response the film has garnered at several international film festivals is overwhelming.

Mukkabaaz is presented by Colour Yellow Pictures and Phantom Films.
