Batti Gul Meter Chalu Trailer out: Shahid Kapoor's fight against the issue of electricity-theft!


Bollywood’s renowned director Shree Narayan Singh who directed Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is all set to release his upcoming comedy-drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Shahid Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu has a social message attached. 

Batti Gul Meter Chalu will release on 21st of September 2018

Set in a small town of Uttarakhand, Batti Gul Meter Chalu appears to be a love story about a lawyer Shahid and Shraddha Kapoor. The cast also includes Divyendu Sharma who plays the role of a lawyer and Shraddha's close friend. Finally, the trailer of the movie has been released and you must not miss it.

As per the trailer, the place deals with the problem of constant power failure. Under pressure of paying Rs. 1.5 lakh as electricity bill, Divyendu Sharma commits suicide. He fails to fight his battle with the electricity company. Later, Shahid takes over the fight to seek justice for his friend. Yami Gautam also plays a lawyer and has a blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer.

About the movie, Yami Gautum said: "Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama on the electricity issue faced by people in the country, especially in small towns. You can expect a very fine amalgamation of entertainment and a relevant social issue which has been talked about for the very first time."

Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Sudhir Pandey, Farida Jalal and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film releases on September 21. It is Shahid and Shraddha's second film together. The duo co-starred in Haider.
