Bollywood is all about the new trend of biopics. After Sania Nehwal, its time for chief national coach of the Indian badminton team and Padma Shri awardee Pullela Gopichand's life to be translated onto the silver screen by Fox Star Studios. The film will release in Hindi and Telugu as Telugu is Pullela's mother tongue.

Today, on the birthday of Gopichand, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took the news on Twitter as he wrote, “Fox Star Studios collaborates with Abundantia Ent [#Baby and #Airlift] to present the biopic of ace badminton player and Chief National Coach of Indian Badminton team Pullela Gopichand… Biopic will be made in Hindi and Telugu… Scripting underway… Shoot commences mid-2018.”
Gopichand is the man behind P V Sindhu's silver medals at 2016 Rio Olympics and 2017 BWF World Championships. Others who have been trained by Gopichand includes Saina Nehwal (former world number one and bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics) and Srikanth Kidambi (winner of two badminton super series, Australia Open and Indonesian Open), Arundhati Pantawane, Gurusai Dutt, Arun Vishnu and Parupalli Kashyap.
On a related note, Gopichand has also been training Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor for the upcoming biopic on Sania Nehwal's life. The biopic on the ace shuttler is said to be bankrolled by Vikram Malhotra who has earlier produced movies like Airlift, Baby and Chef.
