Yes, it's confirmed! On Wednesday, our favorite lovebirds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone tied the knot in a traditional Konkani ceremony in Italy. Just like Virat Kohli and Anuhska Sharma, who got married in December last year, even DeepVeer have kept the ceremony an intimate affair with only close friends and family in attendance.
Before the wedding, the couple exchanged rings following Konkani customs. On Tuesday, they hosted their sangeet and mehendi ceremony. According to reports, they will marry according to traditional Anand Karaj ceremony on Thursday.
Veteran filmmaker Karan Johar took to his official Instagram handle and blessed the newly married couple in a sweet tweet. He tweeted, “Such a stunning gorgeous and beautiful couple!!!! Nazar utar lo! @deepikapadukone and @RanveerOfficial !! Badhai ho !!! Love you both!!! Here’s to a lifetime of love and joy!"
According to reports, Deepika and Ranveer are expected to return to the country on November 18th and will make their first public appearance as a married couple at their Bengaluru reception which is scheduled for November 21. Then after a week, they will host a reception on November 28 in Mumbai for friends and colleagues from the industry.
On Karan Johar's chat show Koffee with Karan, Deepika revealed that she has been dating Ranveer Singh for the past six years. The leading stars have worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. If reports are to be believed, the two started dating on the sets of their first film together, Ram-Leela.
