Filmmaker and actor, Farhan Aktar condemned the violence in Shillong that emerged over a road skirmish a few days back and has refused to subside.
Farhan Aktar’s upcoming directed movies to be released are: Don 3 and Gully Boy
The Indian film director tweeted,“Saddened to hear about violence in Shillong. Sincerely hope that whatever the issue is, it is resolved peacefully. Also hoping that my friends there and their families are safe and unhurt."
Violence had erupted in the Meghalaya capital, after a conflict emerged between the driver of a SPTS (Shillong Public Transport Service) bus and some Punjabi women at Theme iew Mawlong which led to the assault of three persons at the Punjabi Lane area. A curfew was subsequently imposed in several areas of Shillong.
The violence had continued over the next few days even after the parties involved in the skirmish reached a compromise.
The curfew that was imposed on the city, was relaxed for a few hours later on Sunday, but was subsequently followed by attacks as soon as the curfew was re-imposed. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Home Affairs denied rumours of an attack on any Gurdwara or any Sikh institution. Follow our Bollywood Magazine For Latest Bollywood News and Gossips.
