Amidst all the controversies surrounding the much awaited Sanjay Leela Bansali's film 'Padmavati', the makers have decided to postpone the release date of the flick. It is said to be deferred voluntarily as Viacom 18 announced, but the act looks like more of a forced decision.
Padmavati stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
As we already told you that the movie has been sent back from the Central Board of Certification stating that the flick is still incomplete. On one hand, it is denied certification and on the other hand the flick is facing so much heat from Karni sena, claiming that it tries to 'distort their history'.
CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi had said, “In this specific case, the film’s application came up this week only for review. The makers know and admit that the paperwork is not complete — the very disclaimer whether the film is work of fiction or a historical was left blank and not stated — and on simply and legitimately being asked to provide important documents, they target the CBFC for ‘looking the other way and delay’. This truly is surprising.”
Now we will have to wait and see how this all comes to an end. New release date of the flick is still not announced.
