Jacqueline Fernandez is receiving all praises and love for her recent hit film- Judwaa 2 that has crossed the Rs. 200 crore mark on the Box office. While there's time for her Hollywood debut in Definition of Fear, she is going to play the main lead in Bollywood remake of a popular Hollywood movie, The Girl On The Train.
She will be stepping into Emily Blunt's shoes in the remake
The original, while not a huge success, is an adaptation of a best-selling novel by the same name, written by Paula Hawkins. This news was confirmed by Ribhu, who previously made Amitabh Bachchan’s Te3N, to Mumbai Mirror, after buying the official rights to remake the movie in Bollywood. The director has been working on the script for the past few months, and it was only recently that he got Jacqueline on board the project.
A source close to the project revealed, “The film will be set in a small town but the makers are yet to figure whether they will be filming in India or abroad. Ribhu and his team will begin their recce soon and will start prepping up with Jacqueline by the year-end.”
The original movie is about how an alcoholic divorcee, played by Blunt, used to get fascinated by a couple staying in a house near the railway track as she commutes back home. She is drawn to their lives especially when the wife goes missing, and the husband end up being the main suspect.
