Queen of Bollywood Kangana Ranaut hasn't been having a good time at the box office. Both of her movies this year, Rangoon and Simran have done average. Currently she is caught up shooting for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which narrates the inspiring tale of Rani Lakshmibai.
Kangana has been roped in for a film on Arunima Sinha, the first woman amputee to climb Mount Everest.
Three-time National Award winner will be on a 60-day schedule for this biopic. Her Manikarnika schedule will end in December, after which she has a dotted schedule. Further, the director will be confirmed in a month.
Some reports suggest that Kriti Sanon was considered for this role but Kangana swept the role.
Dar Motion Pictures will tell the life story of 29-year- old Arunima, a national level volleyball player who was pushed from a running train by some robbers in 2011 while she was resisting them. As a result, one of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.
Besides scaling Mt Everest, she has climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Europe, Kosciuszko in Australia, Aconcagua in Argentina and Carstensz Pyramid (Puncak Jaya) in Indonesia, showing that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
We are eager to watch this one
