Bollywood's ace filmmaker Karan Johar has won hearts around the globe with his amazing rom-coms and family drama. But now he is ready to do something different, other than his regular genre.
KJo is set to be a part of a biopic movie for the first time.
Karan would kill it in a biopic, we're sure. But who inspired the romantic director to do so? Flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena did. Gunjan Saxena is India's first combat aviator. She was awarded the Shaurya Chakra and is also one of the 25 women to form the first batch of IAF trainee pilots.
But who will play the leading actress? Alia Bhatt. We all know she is Karan's current favorite actress and she will surely do justice to the role. According to reports, the rights of Gunjan Saxena's biopic have been successfully acquired by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and the movie is expected to go on floors next year.
However, the director and the female lead of the movie have not been decided yet. Gunjan, along with flight lieutenant Srividya Rajan, were India's first women to fly choppers and evacuate injured Indian soldiers from Kargil 18 years ago.
On a related note, currently Karan has his hands full with three ongoing projects- Superhero movie Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan, Kesari with Akshay Kumar on the Battle of Saragarhi and Sairat with Ishaan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor.
Knowing so far, we have a good feeling about this one. Stay tuned for more updates!
