Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Kedarnath proved to be a good film with brilliant acting and cinematography but however, it lacked story. It was less meaningful and just a compilation of various events happening, one after another. Unexpectedly, it has managed to earn more than Rs 17 Crore in first two days and it's being anticipated that it will be doing better business, starting from Monday.
Kedarnath is a love story set up against the backdrop of a pilgrimage. Sushant plays a Muslim porter who falls in love with Sara who plays a rich Hindu girl. It has been shown that their love struggles and couldn't survive the hazardous Uttrakhand floods of 2013. While battling with devastating floods, they also fight for their love as Sara's family is shown against their marriage. This movie is indeed sweet and dangerous at the same time. Kedarnath has surely beaten some box office expectations by earning up to Rs 17 Crore in first two days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Kedarnath's box office figures on his Twitter account. “#Kedarnath gathers momentum on Day 2… Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 34.48%… Should witness an upward trend on Day 3 [Sun] as well… Fri 7.25 cr, Sat 9.75 cr. Total: ₹ 17 cr. India biz," he wrote.
Kai Po Che actor Sushant along with Sara Ali Khan have done a commendable job in portraying their characters; Mansoor Khan and Mandakini Mishra aka Mukku. The love-story between a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl takes the main stage in the movie. However, holy pilgrimage Kedarnath failed to add an element of spice in the movie. Abhishek Kapoor directed movie, Kedarnath was really predicted and is only worth watching if you're a fan of either of the two leads.
Co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Kedarnath has received mixed reviews and everybody including us gives credit for its above-average opening to effortless, Sara Ali Khan. It is facing competition from Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, whose Hindi dubbed version is still running successfully at all the theatres.
