Based on the Battle of Saragarhi, Kesari is being helmed by Anurag Singh, featuring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in pivot roles. According to reports, Khiladi Akshay Kumar has injured himself during a heavy-duty action sequence.
The movie is slated to release on Holi 2019
Akshay has injured his ribs during the shoot of the climax scene and has been advised to take rest. Despite many suggestions of going back home, Akshay has decided to stay on location in Wai. The actor was supposed to wrap the action sequences on Thursday.
“I have been shooting for Kesari since the last one and a half months, and every time that I wear the taaj (turban) on my head, I am filled with pride,” Akshay had said earlier.
The battle was fought between British Indian Army that included 21 Sikh soldiers and Afghan Orakzai tribesman in North-West Frontier Province.
Akshay will be portraying the role of Havildar Ishwar Singh, who led the Sikhs. Akshay's stunts and fight sequences have been choreographed by stunt coordinator Lawrence Woodward of the Oscar-winning Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) fame.
