Bollywood’s ace director Kabir Khan has roped in Bollywood’s live-wire Ranveer Singh for portraying the role of Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in his upcoming venture 83. The movie will be based on the 1983 World Cup which concluded with Indian cricket team’s victory.
Kabir Khan’s 83 based on the life of Kapil Dev will release on 30th August in 2019
Bajrangi Bhaijaan director has begun preparing for the movie which is titled as ‘83’. In order to prepare for the upcoming project, the director-actor duo visited the Lord’s Cricket Ground to watch the India vs. England Test match.
While the match got delayed on account of rain in Birmingham, Kabir and Ranveer did not miss a chance to interact and pose with the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.
Director Kabir turned into a photographer for clicking a selfie with Ranveer and Sachin. Ek Tha Tiger director took it to Instagram for sharing the moment with his fans. His caption read: “Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil’s Devils win the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India. 35 years later we kick off the prep for our film 83 at the Lords… Can’t get better than this can it? @ranveersingh @sachintendulkar #indiaenglandseries #lords #filmprep.”

Padmavat star Ranveer Singh also shared a photo and captioned, “Rain Rain go away.” Also, Ranveer posted many photos and videos as his story.
Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is based on the story of Indian skipper Kapil Dev (to be played by the flamboyant Ranveer) who led the Indian cricket team to victory in the 1983 World Cup. The casting of other players is yet to be confirmed.
