Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is not someone who likes to play it with diplomacy or deflect issues. In a recent interview, he candidly acknowledged that his beloved daughter Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are madly in love. Alia and Ranbir are two of the biggest stars in Bollywood, at the moment and their relashionship is indeed that talk of the town. While their fans love to see them together, on screen as well as off screen, what their respective parents think is also worth knowing.
Few months ago, Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor came up-front about his son dating Alia and said that his wife and he are really fond of her. "Neetu likes her, I like her, Ranbir likes her. Get it?" Sr. Kapoor commented.
Now, Alia's father, Mahesh Bhatt, has spoken in details about them. In an elaborated interview with a leading daily, he candidly confirmed that the two are in a relationship. He was quoted saying, “Well, of course they’re in love. You don’t need to be a genius to get that!”
In the same interview, he was also asked if he has some advice for his daughter, to which he completely refused. He said he followed his heart and did not take advices from anybody, when he was young, and has always believed all human beings have the right and required intelligence to lead their own journeys. He even said that if they wanted to marry each-other, any time soon that too would be their call.
Mahesh Bhatt also spoke about the film Sanju in which Ranbir played the lead and really impressed, father Bhatt. “I loved Ranbir (Kapoor) but that’s not the Sanjay Dutt that I know. Ranbir brought his own emotional chord to it but I don’t think Rajkumar (Hirani) was claiming to the world that he’s making an exact replica. People who are very close to Sanjay cannot connect with that portrayal in the movie. But India seems to have loved it,” he said.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt has never hidden feelings for one-another, even if they initially denied it like a rumour. It was confirmed only after Ranbir spoke about his relationship in a candid interview with a leading Indian men's magazine earlier this year. However, Alia never spoke about it in public until her recent appearance on Koffee with Karan. Throughout 2018, Alia has shared numerous pictures of beau Ranbir on her social media handles which directly implemented on how much she adores him. Her visit to New York City and her many pictures together with each-others families shows that they have a certain comfort level.
On the work front, the couple remains busy as ever. They will be sharing screen space in Ayan Mukerji directed Bhramastra, to be released in 2019. Apart from that, Alia has projects like Kalank, Gully Boy and Takht, in her hand right now and Ranbir also look forward to start shooting for Shamshera, soon.
