On Thursday, Bollywood's most-talked about ex-couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, walked the ramp at the 2018 Mijwan Fashion Show donning gorgeous outfits by designer Manish Malhotra.
This is the ninth edition of the walk
Organised by Shabana Azmi’s NGO, Mijwan Welfare society many other celebrities were present at the show including Javed Akhtar, Mouni Roy, Neetu Kapoor, Kriti Kharbanda, Poonam Dhillon, Saqib Saleem, Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam.
Initially the show was scheduled for April 9, 2018 however, it was postponed as Deepika an Ranbir, both had fallen ill.
Talking about the cause, Ranbir said, "We, the young people of India, need to turn our attention towards rural India and focus on empowering the girl child. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say ‘Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it and your time starts now’.”
The welfare society was started by veteran actor Shabana Azmi to realise her father Kaifi Azmi's dreams. On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in Rajkumar Hirani's yet untitled Sanjay Dutt biopic and Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, co-starring Alia Bhatt. Deepika, on the other hand, is flying high after the success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat and will be next seen in Love 4 Ever, according to reports.
