Earlier, there were reports claiming that Thackeray actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be a part of Ranveer Singh starrer Kapil Dev biopic titled as '83. However, the Kick actor never confirmed about the same.
Internet was filled with rumors and articles suggesting that Siddiqui will play a pivotal character in the upcoming sports-drama movie which is based on the 1983 World Cup. In a recent conversation with the media, Nawazuddin cleared the air by revealing that he has never been associated with the concerned project.
“There is absolutely no truth to this. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is not part of '83. While he does share great respect and deep admiration for Kabir Khan as a director and would love to work with him in the future, he has not signed '83," said a source close to the critically-acclaimed Manto actor.
Earlier, makers confirmed that Punjabi actor-singer Ammy Virk will be playing the role of cricketer Balwinder Singh Sandhu where former cricketer Sandeep Patil's actor-son Chirag will be essaying the role of his father in the upcoming sports movie.
Hence, it has been made pretty clear by Nawaz himself that he won't be a part of the Kapil Dev biopic. Until now, Ranveer Singh, Ammy Virk, Chirag Patil and Sahil Khattar among others have been roped in for the project.
On a related note, Kapil Dev biopic '83 starring Ranveer Singh as the former captain of Indian cricket team is being directed by Kabir Khan. The upcoming sports movie will hit the theaters on 10 April 2020.
