Last summer, actor Paresh Rawal had confirmed that he is going to play the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his upcoming biopic which is about to go on the floors soon. While the project was announced commencing preparations in 2017 and then in 2018, nothing was revealed about its process by the makers of the film. In an old interview, early 2018, only Paresh Rawal had commented, “We are just locking the script and hopefully it will finish soon, and we will begin to shoot it in September or October (2018)."
In a recent interview with leading daily, Paresh Rawal opened up about the movie, 'PM Narendra Modi' which he was supposed to be a pivotal part of but is now handed over to Vivek Oberoi. "I still maintain that nobody can play Modi other than me. I can do complete justice to the role. However, it’s a free country and even Vivek can play that role. I wish him luck," he said. “What I can do with that film, nobody else can. Let anybody do what they want to, we are also coming out soon,” he further added.
On Monday, the first poster of the much-anticipated movie of the year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic was revealed. Only few days ago, it was announced that Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi would be essaying the role of the current Prime Minister of India, honourable Narendra Modi.The film is going to be directed by ace-filmmaker Omung Kumar who has previously directed Mary Kom and Sarabjit. Actor Suresh Oberoi, Vivek Oberoi's father, has come on board to co-produce this movie along with Sandeep Singh. Reportedly, the team has been working on the script since last two years and the biopic is going to be shot in Gujarat, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
The release date and other details of the anticipated project is yet to be announced. It will surely be interesting to watch if the makers would be able to shape public opinion and release it in time before the general elections happening later this year.
