Kubbra Sait gained popularity after her bold performance in Netflix original’s Sacred Games recently put out a statement to defend co-actor Nawazudidin Siddiqui. It came as a shock to the fraternity when few days ago, Nawaz was accused of sexually harassing former Miss India, Niharika Singh.
Niharika Singh worked opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in 2009's Miss Lovely.
Niharika Singh's #MeToo story was shared on Twitter by a renouned journalist Sandhya Menon. Sandhya has been spearheading the India's campaign against sexual harassment.
In her confession, former Miss India mentioned that she used to have a soft corner for Nawaz, while they were working together. She adds that one morning she invited him at her place for breakfast and Manto actor grabbed her. "I tried to push him away but he wouldn't let go. After a little coercion, I finally gave in. I wasn't sure what to make of this relationship," she revealed.
The two actors started dating that year but she said soon into their relationship, she was tired of his frequent lies and decided to leave him. She also called him a "sexually repressed Indian man" in the post.

Niharika and other women accused Siddiqui of making up lies in his autobiography, due to which he withdrew the book.

As soon as this post started to make headlines, Kubbra took her Twitter and said that a sour relationship shouldn't be confused with a #MeToo story.
"A relationship gone sour, isn't #MeToo. Someone needs to recognise the toxic difference before we go picking sides. I stand by #NawazuddinSiddiqui or #Nowaz as a man. I stand by the fact that although Niharika Singh may have had a tough time in the industry, categorising her once personal relationship as a #MeToo statement is incorrectly placed. We as humans are flawed. That isn't gender specific," the Sacred Games actress wrote.
However, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has gone into hiding and is yet to comment on these allegations.
Last year, Niharika Singh along with Sunita Rajwar had blamed Nawaz for "exploiting and disrespecting women" for selling his autobiography. The charges were later withdrawn by the publishing house, Penguin Random House.
Meanwhile it’s in the news that Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan starrer second season of Sacred Gamed might be dropped after these allegations. If these damages dig deeper, this would end Nawazuddin's career.
