The film is an adaptation of the Hollywood movie Front of the Class, which was itself based on the book Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had penned by Brad Cohen. While Hichki is being considered as Rani Mukerji's comeback to the film industry, Rani is leaving no stone unturned to make this movie the most-talked about.
