Feature

Action guru Rohit Shetty is back on the director’s chair and this time, he has collaborated with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh for the first time to give us the biggest New Years gift possible! Titled Simmba, the film is a remake of 2015 Telugu film Temper.

Aala re aala Simmba aala!!

While Simmba will be Singh's first film after his wedding with Deepika Padukone, this movie will also mark the debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan. In the movie, Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of the cop ACP Sangram Bhalerao, who changes his ways after falling in love with a girl, which will be portrayed by Sara Ali Khan.

In the two-minute-and-fifty-four-seconds-long- trailer, we see how Bajirao Singham inspired young Sangram Bhalerao to become a police officer but with all the bad intentions. With quirky dialogues, picturesque locations and foot-tapping music, Simmba is going to be a blockbuster!

While Ranveer’s character enjoys his easy ways and corrupt life, the movie takes a dark turn when his so-called-younger younger sister dies after being raped. A shattered Simmba pledges to take down the rapists and pronounce them a punishment in his own court of law. It is all about revenge and bringing justice from there. Going by the trailer, we can expect Bhalerao to make a grand entry in the climax!

Here are some snapshots from the trailer:

The Gunday actor's Marathi is on-point, his physique and moustache are drool-worthy and this movie is something that his fans will see after a really long time!  For those who might miss it, there is even a reference to Salman Khan’s Robinhood from Dabangg. The things that I learnt are the things that I’ll carry forward for the rest of my life, and it’s been cultivated and nurtured by sir (Rohit Shetty). When the hard work of all of us comes together, a film like Simmba is made, which according to me will be a blockbuster," Ranveer said while talking about Shetty.
