Veteran filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s cash registers are ringing whoosh and whoosh. His sci-fi thriller 'Ready Player One' has raked in an enormous $53.2 million at the box office over the 4 day Easter weekend within North America.
'Ready Player One' is Steven Spielberg’s best opening in 10 years.
According to trade analysts, the movie wasn’t going to be much of a success because of its star-cast Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke who are not quite popular and also the story plot that goes like, "teenagers in a dystopian future search for treasure inside a virtual-reality world called the Oasis was exceedingly difficult to explain in marketing materials."
Moreover, this movie has broken Spielberg’s previous 10 year records, followed by 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' during 2008 summer with $118 million in weekend-opening ticket sales after inflation-adjustment.
Spielberg’s other noteworthy movies are 'Bridge of Spies', 'E.T.', 'Minority Report' in 2005, 'Close Encounters', 'The Post', 'Jaws', 'Jurassic Park' and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' amongst a list of blockbusters.Follow our Bollywood Magazine For Latest Bollywood News and Gossips.
