Sui Dhaaga is a tribute to common man, says Varun Mauji Dhawan


Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga: Made in India is doing phenemeonally well at the box-office. Produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, the movie has collected over Rs. 100 crores in less than ten days of its release. At the success press conference of the movie, Varun interacted with the media and said that his acting career was a bit funny until now. He said, “I don’t know how to react when people talk about my work. My career has been bit funny until now.”

“They would say he is there because of his body. Now, I have entered the sixth year of my career, and this year, people have talked about my performance. So, it is very encouraging for me," Varun said while talking about his career graph until now. He made his debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012.

Expressing gratitude towards his audience, Varun said, "“I always felt that I am a good actor. But I think it took some time for people to realise that. I am genuinely thankful to the audience because that’s what matters to me.” Talking about picking for unconventional roles paired with conventional hero roles, he said, “It is a mixture of content and commerce. So, it feels really nice when a common man appreciates your performance. This film is a tribute to a common man.”

Helmed by Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga: Made in India revolves around Mauji and Mamta's extra ordinary fight of doing something of their own against the whole society. It also features Raghubir Yadav, Namit Das and Yamini Das. The movie has entered the Rs. 100 crore club in just seven days.

On the work front, Varun will next be seen in Dharma Productions upcoming venture Kalank. Directed by Abhishek Verman, the movie also features Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor. It is scheduled to release on 19 April 2019.
