Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra starrer Badhaai Ho has turned out to be a hit and continues to do well on the box office. This is Ayushmann Khurrana’s second hit of the year and by all means, he is a fantastic performer. The unique storyline has attracted masses and thanks to the funny one-liners and mind blowing performance of the cast, the film will continue to shine. And with that, here is what superstar Varun Dhawan wrote about the family comedy.
Badhaai Ho has collected over Rs. 40 crores in four days
The Sui Dhaaga actor took to Twitter to congratulate the film’s team. Varun wrote, "Loved #BadhaaiHo. A very well directed film by #amit. @ayushmannk apki puri family bahut badhiyaa lagi and @sanyamalhotra07 lights up the screen every time she appears. Helmed by Amit Sharma, Badhaai Ho continues to stay strong at the box office, thanks to the extended Dussehra weekend! The film revolves around unplanned pregnancy of a middle-aged couple, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, and how their entire family come to terms with it. Ayushmann plays the son of the couple with Sanya Malhotra as his girlfriend and colleague in the film.
In a recent interview, Ayushmann expressed his desire to work on scripts that do have a reference in Hindi cinema. “I always want to go for scripts that do not have a reference in Hindi cinema. If it is novel and unique, it definitely has a better shelf value. Like 20 years down the line, you will want to watch films like Vicky Donor, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Andhadhun and even Badhaai Ho for that matter. I will like to have that kind of filmography which is normal,” the actor said.
Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, was last seen in Sharat Katariya's Sui Dhaaga: Made in India. The film did average business at the box office. He will be next seen in Abhishek Verman multi-starrer Kalank, which is being bankrolled by Dharma Productions. The film also features Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt.
The actor is currently in news for appearing on Karan’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, where he will be seen sharing the couch with Ek Tha Tiger actor Katrina Kaif.
Meanwhile, Badhaai Ho has collected over Rs. 44 crore in four days. The film shared its release with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer Namaste England, has failed miserably.
