Two most-awaited films of the year, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Thackeray are all set to release and massively clash this Friday. While Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika features a celebrated cast, luxurious sets and grandeur costumes; on the other hand, Nawaz's Thackeray is backed by some amazing performers and an intriguing story line.
While these films were under production, both of them have been through their fair share of controversies, highs and lows because of the cinematic storms. Manikarnika will make us witness the bravery and exuberance of Rani Laxmibai on the big screens whereas Thackeray will portray the life of Bala Sahab Thackeray, which indeed has the audience excited about a lot of insights. We were left awestruck by both of their trailers; with all the songs, dialogues and promos being revealed slowly every day, the buzz around both the films have only increased.
A lot of predictions have been happening lately regarding their mega-clash and which out of the two movies would be ruling the box-office in the coming week. Manikarnika has been made on a grand budget of over Rs 100 Crore, Thackeray has been made on a moderate budget of Rs 30 Crore. The biggest point to be noted here is, both the films will definitely be attracting a lot of audience to the theatres as coming Saturday is a National Holiday on account of Republic Day.
Manikarnika is being expected to earn somewhere between Rs 10-15 Crore on it's opening day while Thackeray is expected to make Rs 4-5 Crore on Day 1. According to the movie buffs making predictions before both the movies to releasing this weekend, it is being believed that Manikarnika would definitely overtake Thackeray at the box-office, however, it remains to be seen if the celebrated film is able to recover its making amount or not.
