Late actor Sridevi has inaugurated the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The organisers of this event have announced in a recent statement that Sridevi's last film, Mom for which she won Best Actress Award as well at the 65th National Film Awards, will be screened at the film festival.After ruling the Indian cinemas for four decades Sridevi, died this year at the age of 55 due to an accidental drowning in Dubai.
The organisers also announced that an old film of late actor Vinot Khanna will also be showcased during this festival. He was one of the biggest Indian movie stars and his movies from 70's and 80's were really popular. Unfortunately, he died on April 27 last year battling cancer; the actor was 70 at the time of his demise. The festival will showcase some of his best works like Achanak, Lekin and Amar Akbar Anthony.
The Homage section of IFFI has decided to honour actor Shashi Kapoor's by screening his film, Vijeti while his son, Kunal Kapoor, who was also a part of this movie, would be in attendance at the event.
Karunanidhi’s National Award winning Tamil film Malaikkallan and Lajmi’s critically acclaimed feature Rudaali will also be screened at the festival.
The 49th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will be held from November 20 to November 28 in Goa and would be showcasing 212 films in 2018.
