Our favourite former WWE wrestling champion and now an actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has come out with shocking revelations about himself. The man disclosed about his secret battle with depression over the years to express.co.uk.
Dwayne Johnson won several hearts with his super entertaining movie Baywatch.
The man who turned to acting in 2000 revealed that he had been fighting the agony over witnessing his mother Ata’s attempted suicide when he was just 15. He said, "She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road."
The man also explains that the craziest part of the incident is that his mother doesn’t even remember it happened. The "Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle" star added, "Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed. I reached a point where I didn't want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly."
It was definitely a bad phase for him as his family was evicted from their apartment, his mother tried to kill herself and even his girlfriend broke up with him. Years later, Johnson even dreamed of becoming a professional football player but couldn’t due to his numerous injuries.
To be out in The Rock’s words, "That was my absolute worst time." But wrestling his way to the top, the man found the inner strength to carry on and not be suicidal like his mother.
