Simran fame actor Sohum Shah is all set to rock the silver screen with his upcoming period horror film, Tumbbad. Based on a Marathi novel titled as Tumbadche Khot, Tumbbad is a mysterious horror-thriller which revolves around a tale when humans defied the goddess of universe.

As interesting as it sounds, the efforts behind making this movie involved a six-year-long journey of endless shoots, discussions and research. Well, the trailer of this magnum opus has finally reached the masses and people are going nuts over it.
The trailer begins when we witness a family leaving Tumbbad while they say "Sarkar mar gaya" as in 'Sarkar died'. Well, a boy from the family believes that there is a treasure buried somewhere in Tumbbad and that it is his family's righteous property.
What follow next is a roller-coaster ride which is spooky yet stunning story involving three generations of a Brahmin family. The trailer promises that the movie is an adventurous journey backed by rigid content and impressive performances.
The major element in the story of Tumbbad is 'greed' which is reflected in each member of the Brahmin family. We see different people trying different methods for possessing the gold from Tumbbad and their encounters with the supernatural entity.
Produced by Sohum Shah, Eros International, Colour Yellow Productions and Anand L Rai, Tumbbad premiered in the critics' week section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival, becoming the first Indian film to be screened there.
